If you ask us about the tradition we belong to, or the masters
who walk behind us, we can only bow in gratitude.
Padma Here & Now is a wave rising in the vast ocean of timeless wisdom. This
ocean has been nurtured by the footsteps of many great
ones—Agastya Muni, the sage of balance; Patanjali, the seer of
Yoga; Swami Rama of the Himalayan heights; Adi Shankaracharya,
the light of Vedanta; Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the heart of
devotion. It carries the fragrance of Sri Vidya Tantra, the
depth of Kriya Yoga, the healing touch of Ayurveda, and the many
streams of ancient sciences that continue to flow through time.
Agasthyar, also known as Agasthya Muni or Agasthya Rishi, was a prominent figure in ancient Indian literary and cultural tradition. He is considered one of the greatest Rishis of all time. Several deeds of Agasthyar indicate the oneness of our country and enable us to understand the elements that contribute to what we now understand as modern national integration. His teachings, writings, and influence have had a lasting impact on Indian society, playing a vital role in fostering a sense of unity and cultural continuity across the diverse regions of India; these have also shaped the cultural, philosophical, and intellectual landscape of India.
Swami Sivananda (1887–1963) was one of the great yoga masters of India. In his life he pursued two careers, that of a successful physician and that of a yogi and sage. His work always centred on serving others: “Every type of work that served to heal and relieve human suffering filled me with great joy.” For him, service was “love in expression”. This great sage of the twentieth century, Swami Sivananda, lives on. He lives on in his books, in his disciples, in the atmosphere of his centres and ashrams. Swami Sivananda was a prince among men, a jewel among saints. Service and love were the weapons he used to conquer the hearts of men. Swami Sivananda did not found a new religion, nor did he develop any new rules of ethics and morality. Instead, he helped the Hindu become a better Hindu, the Christian a better Christian, the Muslim a better Muslim. There was an enduring power in Swami Sivananda – in his thoughts, his words and his deeds. He was the divine power of truth, purity, love and service
Born in 1925 in Uttar Pradesh, Swami Rama was raised from early childhood by a great yogi and saint of Bengal who lived in the foothills of the Himalayas. In his youth he practiced the various disciplines of yoga science and philosophy in the traditional monasteries of the Himalayas and studied closely with many spiritual adepts, including Mahatma Gandhi, Sri Aurobindo, and Rabindranath Tagore. He is a free thinker, guided by his direct experience and inner wisdom, and he encourages his students to do likewise. “I am a messenger, delivering the wisdom of the Himalayan sages of my tradition. My job is to introduce you to the teacher within.” Swamiji’s deep love for his ancient spiritual tradition is reflected in his life and work. For twenty-five years he has lectured throughout the world in monasteries, churches, universities, and medical schools. His nonsectarian and universal approach towards life and the teachings he imparts are accepted by all religious faiths and communities, making him a binding force between the East and the West.
Ramana Maharshi ("Bhagavan") was a 20th century Indian sage who continues to radiate peace and self-awareness to the global community of spiritual seekers. You do not need to join any organization, adopt any belief system, or worship anyone or anything to experience the transition of bliss and clarity. Bhagavan simply points you towards your innermost self, the unchanging reality underlying all that exists. As if your life and the world were a movie; Bhagavan's practice of asking who am I? It allows you to find true happiness by realizing that you are the screen itself , not the movie being projected.
Padma Here & Now strives to bring together the timeless traditions of spirituality and share them with the world, based on what we have learned, practiced, and lived. Our intention is to help every individual apply these principles in daily life so that one’s journey becomes smoother, guided by the right perspective about life.
Today, information is everywhere—books, techniques, teachers, and theories—yet real transformation is rare. Why? Because much of it remains theoretical, disconnected from practical life. The modern world has also become confused with labels. Many reinterpretations mix yoga with gymnastics or circus-like activities, adding fashionable names such as power yoga, hot yoga, face yoga, puppy yoga, aerial yoga, and so on. But true Yoga is beyond trends.
Real Yoga is one—Ashtanga Yoga, the eight-limbed royal path codified by Sage Patanjali. Unfortunately, similar distortions exist in other spiritual paths as well.
At Padma Here & Now, our mission is to transform lives through the authentic science of Yoga, applied sadhana, and meditation—integrating ancient wisdom with modern science and psychology. We are committed to preserving and strengthening traditional practices without diluting their essence or purpose.
If you are a sincere aspirant who wishes to learn Classical Yoga, meditation, and other spiritual streams in their pristine purity, this is your open invitation. Let us carry the ancient baton of wisdom into modern hands. Together, let us explore, expand, and awaken the deeper dimensions of life.
